Our adventures begin and end at Paroa Playcentre, where tamariki gather before heading out to explore nature and return full of stories at the end of the day!
-
Toilet-trained tamariki can stay for the full day without a parent — yay for independence!
We do love a helping hand though, as we keep a 1:5 ratio to make sure everyone has the best experience. This means with between 10 and 15 tamariki we require 1 additional adult to join our teaching team!
Whānau helpers (parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles — all welcome!) make our adventures possible, and we’re so grateful for the community support. -

We’re proud to offer 20 Hours ECE funding for tamariki aged 3 until they start school.
If your child is eligible and using their ECE hours with us, there’s no cost to you.For those not covered by ECE funding, the fee is $9 per hour.
If you’re attending alongside your child (for example, while they’re still toilet training), we won’t charge you a fee. -
Rain or shine, we’re out exploring!
Our tamariki are all set with wet weather gear (we provide it!) — just bring gumboots and a smile.
When it’s really wet, we often start the day mixing up bread dough, then head out for muddy adventures and puddle jumps, before returning to bake our bread and get cozy.
